Job Overview

We are seeking someone dedicated and passionate to join our culinary team as kitchen help. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food safety and kitchen operations, with experience in food preparation and meal preparation within a restaurant environment. As kitchen help, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dishes that meet our standards for taste and presentation.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assist chef with a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Assist in the planning of menus, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and seasonal ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during service periods. Monitor stock levels of ingredients and do some simple ordering Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices.

Requirements

Proven experience as kitchen help in a restaurant or similar culinary setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen operations. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation. A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new techniques. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
