We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting chefs and kitchen staff. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced culinary environment while contributing to the overall success of our restaurant.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils. Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use. Support chefs during service by fetching ingredients and supplies as needed. Dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with health and safety regulations. Assist in maintaining stock levels by reporting shortages to the kitchen management. Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred but not essential. Basic cooking skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively. A keen interest in culinary arts and hospitality. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
