Job Summary


Working under award-winning Executive Chef Matthew Briddon, we are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our team at The Inn at Freshford.

Newly purchased and reopened as part of the Iford Manor Estate, there are now 3 hospitality venues in the group (Iford Manor Kitchen with its restaurant and cafe, The Cross Guns at Avoncliff and The Inn at Freshford). Our ethos is to cook food from scratch and much is sourced from the adjacent farm on the Estate.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within the hospitality industry and develop foundational skills in food preparation and kitchen operations. The role is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality, culinary arts, and delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities



Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards. Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients. Support the kitchen team with general cleaning duties to maintain a tidy and safe working environment. Ensure all waste is disposed of correctly and recycling procedures are followed. Restock supplies and organise storage areas to facilitate efficient kitchen operations. Assist with setting up dining areas and clearing tables as needed during service periods. Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.

Experience



Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates. Familiarity with food preparation, cooking, or culinary tasks is advantageous. Experience working in a busy kitchen environment or serving customers can be beneficial. A genuine interest in hospitality and culinary arts is preferred. Pay: 26,000.00-28,000.00 per year
