We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations.
Shifts may vary according to our lunch (9am to 3am) or dinner service (6 pm to 10/11pm), Wednesday to Saturday, Sunday shift is 12pm to 5/6pm, mandatory with a break and a roast.
Monday and Tuesday, the pub is closed.
Experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
Assist with food preparation tasks, ensuring ingredients are ready for cooking and service.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
Support chefs and kitchen staff during service by providing necessary items and maintaining an efficient workflow.
Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to, including proper food handling and hygiene practices.
Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring stock rotation is followed.
Participate in general kitchen duties as required, contributing to a positive team environment.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key.
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques; culinary experience is an advantage.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
A good understanding of health and safety standards within a kitchen setting.
Excellent communication skills and a friendly disposition, contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere.
