The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness and assisting with food preparation. Duties
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and utensils.
Assist chefs with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
Help with the delivery and storage of food supplies, ensuring proper stock rotation.
Support the culinary team during busy service periods by providing timely assistance.
Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
Assist in maintaining hygiene standards in accordance with food safety guidelines.
Skills
Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen environment is advantageous.
Basic cooking skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques are beneficial.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
