We are looking for an experienced, hardworking individual to join our kitchen staff. The Kitchen Porter is responsible for cleaning all dishes in the kitchen as well as maintaining a sanitary environment for staff and guests. This position requires dealing with a lot of manual labour and standing for long periods of time in an active kitchen environment. We expect our employees to be on time every day, and we are looking for a committed and reliable team member.
1. Maintain a positive environment for our teams to work in.
2. Assist in food preparation if required under the supervision of the kitchen team.
3. Cleaning, and ensuring all items and kitchen equipment, are routinely and stored away.
4. Routinely sanitise ALL kitchen contact points.
5. Assist with unloading and putting away of deliveries.
6. Emptying of bins, rotating of industrial bins (general waste & recycling).
7. Flat-packing of cardboard.
8. Sweeping and mopping of floors, cleaning of gulleys and drains.
9. Maintaining walk-in fridge & freezer, and walk areas are clean and tidy.
10. Deep cleaning responsibilities as requested, including deep fat friers, walls, hard to reach areas, extraction hood and vents.
11. Replenishment of chemicals as required from stores.
12. Routinely report on low stock levels of cleaning chemicals.
13. Keep workstations clean and comply with food safety standards. Including following and implementing HACCP principles.
14. Monitor the kitchen equipment, highlight to the senior team any repairs and service as needed. Identifying any risks and reporting promptly to the relevant manager.
15. Leaving work areas at end of shift in an acceptable condition - including completing all 'Closing Tasks'.
16. Work extra hours at busy times.
17. Maintain excellent time keeping.
