Duties

Assist with food preparation and basic cooking tasks as directed by chefs. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times. Help with the storage and inventory of food supplies, ensuring proper rotation and stock levels. Support chefs during busy service periods by providing assistance as needed. Carry out general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitising surfaces. Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is preferred but not essential. Basic food preparation skills and an understanding of cooking techniques are advantageous. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. A keen interest in culinary arts and hospitality is desirable. Excellent teamwork abilities, demonstrating a positive attitude towards collaboration. Good communication skills to effectively interact with kitchen staff and management.
