Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a bustling kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our culinary staff by ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in food preparation and kitchen operations.

Duties

Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables as directed by chefs. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised and free from clutter. Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils promptly to support the cooking process. Help with the storage of food items, ensuring proper rotation and labelling for freshness. Support chefs during service by assisting with plating and serving as needed. Adhere to health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment at all times. Assist with inventory management by reporting low stock levels of supplies or ingredients.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential. A keen interest in food preparation and cooking is highly desirable. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to maintain cleanliness standards. Ability to work effectively as part of a team within a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills to liaise with kitchen staff efficiently. A background in hospitality or culinary arts would be an advantage but not mandatory. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
