We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation and ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the culinary field within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans. Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs, including chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients. Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use. Help with stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste. Support chefs during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed. Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff. Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the kitchen management promptly.

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices is beneficial. Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Excellent teamwork skills with a willingness to help others in a fast-paced kitchen setting. Good communication skills to effectively liaise with chefs and other kitchen staff. A positive attitude towards learning and developing within the culinary field.
