We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our culinary team. The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen environment. The Kitchen Porter will assist with various tasks, ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and meets health and safety standards.

Duties

Assist with food preparation, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables as needed. Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly. Support chefs and kitchen staff by bussing tables and ensuring that dining areas are clean and organized. Help set up for banquets and catering events, ensuring all necessary items are available for service. Perform regular cleaning duties to uphold health regulations, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces. Assist in cooking tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors. Handle food items safely in compliance with food handling guidelines. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods.

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is preferred but not required. Familiarity with food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills is a plus. Experience in catering or banquet services is advantageous. Strong cleaning skills with attention to detail to maintain a hygienic work environment. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration in a busy kitchen setting. Knowledge of food handling practices to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations.
