As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry, particularly within hotels or restaurants, and those with an interest in food preparation and culinary arts.
Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation of food items under the guidance of chefs and cooks.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
Ensure that all kitchen areas are kept tidy and organised at all times.
Support chefs during service by helping with basic food preparation tasks.
Assist in stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste.
Help with the delivery of supplies and ingredients as required.
Adhere to health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Experience
Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential.
A keen interest in culinary practices and food preparation is highly desirable.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
