We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and supporting chefs in their culinary tasks. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced environment within the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans
Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs
Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly
Support chefs during service by fetching ingredients and supplies
Dispose of waste in accordance with health and safety regulations
Help maintain stock levels by reporting shortages to the kitchen supervisor
Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times
Skills
Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel environment is advantageous
Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
Strong organisational skills with an ability to multitask effectively
A keen interest in culinary arts and hospitality
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen setting
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
