The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment, ensuring that our culinary team can operate efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry, particularly within a restaurant or hotel setting.
Responsibilities
Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
Ensure all dishes, pots, and pans are washed and stored correctly.
Support chefs during service by providing timely assistance as required.
Help with stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste.
Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
Assist in receiving deliveries and storing supplies appropriately.
Skills
Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
Basic food preparation skills and understanding of cooking techniques are advantageous.
Experience in a restaurant or hotel environment is beneficial.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
