Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment, supporting the culinary staff to deliver exceptional service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to learn about food preparation and kitchen operations within a busy restaurant or hotel setting.

Duties

Responsible for cleaning and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards. Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients. Supporting the culinary team by ensuring the kitchen remains tidy and well-stocked throughout service. Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations. Ensuring all work areas are clean and organised at the end of each shift. Supporting the movement of supplies and ingredients around the kitchen as required. Adhering to health and safety protocols at all times to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided. Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, or culinary techniques is desirable. Experience in serving or general hospitality roles can be beneficial. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organisational skills and a proactive attitude towards cleanliness and safety standards. Willingness to learn new skills related to kitchen operations and food handling. Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
