Overview
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our restaurant team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and assisting chefs where required. This position requires strong teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas, including work surfaces, floors, and storage areas.
Wash, dry, and store dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and efficiently.
Ensure pots, pans, and cooking equipment are cleaned and ready for use at all times.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the guidance of chefs when required.
Remove and dispose of rubbish safely and ensure bins are cleaned and maintained.
Receive and organise deliveries, storing ingredients correctly to maintain freshness and safety.
Support the kitchen team during busy service times to ensure smooth operations.
Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Head Chef or management promptly.
Skills
Strong understanding of hygiene and food safety practices.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication and teamwork skills to support kitchen and front-of-house staff.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards.
Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks such as lifting, carrying, and standing for long periods
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: From 12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week
