Duties

Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment by washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs and cooks, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards. Help with the storage of food items, ensuring proper stock rotation and cleanliness of storage areas. Support the culinary team by preparing ingredients, such as chopping vegetables or measuring ingredients for recipes. Dispose of waste correctly and ensure recycling practices are followed. Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment and surfaces to maintain hygiene standards. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Strong interest in hospitality and culinary arts, with a passion for food preparation. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Good organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as required by the business needs. A proactive approach to tasks and the ability to follow instructions from senior kitchen staff.
