The Kitchen Porter will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring that all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and stored. Duties

Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment by washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. Assist chefs with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients. Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored correctly after use. Help with the organisation of the kitchen by keeping workstations tidy and stocked with necessary supplies. Support the culinary team during busy service periods by providing assistance as required. Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the kitchen management promptly.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is an advantage but not essential. A passion for food and hospitality, with a willingness to learn and develop culinary skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. A proactive attitude towards helping others and contributing positively to the kitchen atmosphere. Flexibility regarding working hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
