We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our culinary operations by ensuring the kitchen is clean, organised, and well-equipped. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment, whether in a restaurant, hotel, or other culinary settings.
Responsibilities
Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the chefs, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised and free from clutter.
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils efficiently to support the cooking team.
Help with the storage of food items and supplies, ensuring proper rotation and labelling.
Support chefs during service by delivering ingredients and assisting with plating as required.
Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, promoting a safe working environment.
Assist with stocktaking and inventory management when necessary.
Requirements
Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is desirable but not essential.
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking processes is an advantage.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
A passion for hospitality and a willingness to learn from experienced culinary professionals.
Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
