As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by supporting chefs and kitchen staff in maintaining cleanliness and organisation. Duties

Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to ensure a hygienic environment. Support the cooking team by ensuring that all necessary items are readily available during service periods. Help with the washing up of dishes, pots, and pans using appropriate cleaning methods. Dispose of waste correctly and ensure recycling procedures are followed. Assist in receiving deliveries and storing food items appropriately. Follow health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment.

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is advantageous but not essential. Basic food preparation skills and an understanding of cooking techniques are beneficial. Familiarity with culinary practices and hospitality standards will be an asset. Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment. A positive attitude towards teamwork and collaboration within the kitchen setting. Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with kitchen staff and management.
