We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Responsibilities

Wash pots and keep pot-wash area clean and tidy. Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and preparing ingredients as directed by the chefs. Support cooking staff by performing basic cooking tasks and ensuring timely delivery of dishes. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Ensure all food safety protocols are adhered to, including proper storage of ingredients and maintaining hygiene standards. Help with serving meals during busy periods and assist in catering events as required. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, including catering or restaurant experience. Basic cooking skills and knowledge of meal preparation techniques. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting. A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn from experienced chefs. Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards collaboration in a dynamic kitchen atmosphere.
