Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced culinary environment. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation and ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly. This role is essential for upholding the high standards of hygiene and efficiency within our establishment.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other cooking equipment promptly to prevent build-up. Help with the organisation of food storage areas, ensuring that all items are stored correctly and labelled appropriately. Assist in receiving deliveries and storing supplies in an orderly manner. Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by helping with basic cooking tasks as required. Maintain a tidy work environment by disposing of waste properly and recycling where possible. Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is beneficial. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting. Good communication skills to work collaboratively within a team. A passion for hospitality and culinary arts is highly desirable. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: 12.50-14.00 per hour
