Duties

Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the chefs, ensuring all ingredients are ready for cooking. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans promptly. Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored correctly after use. Help with stock rotation and storage of food items to maintain freshness and quality. Support chefs during service by providing assistance as needed, including fetching ingredients or tools. Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff. Assist with waste management, ensuring that rubbish is disposed of properly and recycling protocols are followed.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Basic culinary skills or knowledge of food preparation techniques would be beneficial. Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy restaurant or hotel setting. Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues in a hospitality environment. A proactive attitude towards helping others and contributing positively to the kitchen team. Understanding of health and safety standards within a culinary context is desirable.

Pay: 11.56-12.47 per hour
