Summary

We are seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our team at Old Dairy Farm Nursery. In this role, you will support our kitchen staff in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring that our food preparation areas are safe and hygienic. Your contributions will play a vital role in supporting our mission to provide nourishing meals for the children in our care.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of food items as directed by the kitchen staff. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes and utensils. Help with food storage and inventory management to ensure freshness. Support the kitchen team during meal service by preparing ingredients and assisting with plating. Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the kitchen manager.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not essential. Basic knowledge of food hygiene practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong teamwork skills and willingness to help others. Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
