We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Team Member to join our Community pub. This role involves the preparation and service of meals in a fast-paced environment, we are known for our freshly prepared Italian stone baked pizzas with fresh toppings and our Gastro Burgers , ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. The successful candidate will have a passion for cooking, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. Previous experience in catering, restaurant settings, or food preparation is highly desirable. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable kitchen experience within a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
Meal preparation and food assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
Support the cooking process, ensuring timely delivery of dishes during service hours
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitising surfaces, and storing ingredients appropriately
Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping, peeling, and measuring
Serve food to customers in a professional and courteous manner
Assist with stock control, including checking inventory levels and restocking supplies as needed
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
Qualifications
Previous experience in a catering or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and on own at times
Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
Enthusiasm for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary
