This vacancy is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Chef looking to develop their skills as a supervisor in an exciting hospitality kitchen.

The successful candidate will be working across both our hospitality outlets. BCUSU operate a Victorian pub called Eagle & Ball and a campus Cafe/bar called The Social Kitchen at BCU's City South Campus (Edgbaston). Both venues offer an extensive menu which includes freshly made pizzas, pasta dishes, street food boxes and burgers. Both outlets are open Monday- Friday with the occasional need to work at the weekend for private hire or University Open Days.

The role...



As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

Supervising the kitchen to a high standard Conforming with Health & Safety Guidelines and HACCP Maintaining agreed stock levels and placing food orders
The successful candidate will need to provide relevant experience working in a kitchen or catering environment and have a willingness to elevate cooking standards at our outlets. Our outlets are an essential part of student life and we are committed to providing the best experience and service to our customers.

You will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of the food, maintaining high operational and quality standards at all times. You will supervise the student staff Catering Assistants and ensure the kitchen adheres to the health & safety guidelines whilst maintaining stock levels and stock quality.

Able to work under pressure, using own initiative Reliable and trustworthy Posses excellent attention to detail Confident and driven by providing good quality food service Committed to continuously improving our kitchen processes and providing fresh ideas for our food menus

Hours



35 hours per week.

Eagle & Ball is open weekdays 12pm - 11pm and is currently closed on weekends but may require coverage of shifts for weekend private hire bookings. Our pub is also closed on bank holidays and study breaks during Winter, Easter and Summer.

The Social Kitchen is open weekdays from 11am - 3pm.
