Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated part-time Kitchen Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our golf club kitchen and catering facilities. This is a hands-on supervisory role, ensuring the provision of high-quality, consistent food service to our members and guests, while strictly upholding all food safety and hygiene standards.

Hours:

20-30 hours per week, structured to cover key service times and events

Rate of Pay:

14.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities



1.

Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a varied menu of bar snacks, daily specials, and function menus to a consistently high standard.

Menu Planning: Assist the F&B Manager with menu development, considering member preferences, seasonality, and cost efficiency.

Stock Control: Manage all kitchen stock, including ordering, rotation, and inventory checks to minimise waste and control costs.

Kitchen Organisation: Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient working environment.

Member Liaison: Interact professionally with club members and guests, dealing with feedback or special requests as required.

Hygiene Standards: Be responsible for ensuring all food preparation, cooking, and storage practices comply with the UK Food Safety and Hygiene (England) Regulations and the principles of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).

Cleaning & Maintenance: Implement and monitor robust daily, weekly, and deep-cleaning schedules for the kitchen, storage areas, and equipment.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records for temperature checks, cleaning schedules, and traceability logs (e.g., invoices).

Audit Compliance: Take ownership of the kitchen's Food Hygiene Rating, working to maintain 5 stars at all times.

Health & Safety: Ensure adherence to general workplace health and safety legislation (e.g., COSHH, manual handling) within the kitchen environment.

3. (When Applicable)

Supervise, motivate, and provide on-the-job training to any junior/casual kitchen staff or assistants.

Ensure all staff adhere to personal hygiene standards and safe working practices.

Qualifications and Experience



Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety (or equivalent)

Allergen Awareness training certification

Proven experience as a Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor in a busy catering environment (e.g., pub, cafe, or club).

Experience in a golf club would be an advantage

Strong knowledge of UK food hygiene legislation

Basic IT skills for stock ordering and email communication.

Proven ability to manage stock and control waste.

Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

A proactive, positive, and flexible approach to working hours (including evenings/weekends).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From 14.50 per hour
