About the Role
We're a small, family-owned bar restaurant that's been operating in Oxton Village for almost three years. We offer small tapas-style dishes, pizzas and grazing boards, so the focus is on preparation and presentation rather than elaborate cooking. We're looking for a reliable, hands-on Kitchen Supervisor to join our team. You don't need to be a chef with years of experience, but you should be confident in the kitchen, organised, and happy to take responsibility for smooth day-to-day operations. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a small team, loves creating a great customer experience with food & service, and wants to play a key role in a welcoming neighbourhood venue.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day kitchen operations, working closely with one other team member.
Organise and delegate kitchen tasks to ensure efficiency and quality.
Stock management including weekly stock takes and monitoring wastage.
Stock ordering, purchase and collection locally.
Ensure high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
Serve customers directly when required providing excellent customer service.
Support a positive, team-focused working atmosphere.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience working in a kitchen (preparation-based roles also considered).
Knowledge of and qualification in food hygiene and health & safety standards.
Effective leadership skills with the ability to motivate and organise a small team.
Good communication and people skills.
Responsible, punctual, and able to stay calm under pressure and in busy periods.
Happy to work evenings and weekends (Wednesday-Sunday), with a finish time of 10pm.
