We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Kitchen Team Leader to oversee daily operations within our gastro pub environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food, and experience in food production, cooking, and food safety. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and maintaining efficient workflow to deliver exceptional service. The Kitchen Team Leader will play a vital role in fostering a positive team atmosphere while ensuring all culinary activities meet organisational standards.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, and serving activities to ensure smooth operations.
Oversee food production processes, maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, and safety.
Manage daily kitchen tasks including food safety compliance, stock control, and utilisation of resources efficiently.
Assist with food preparation and cooking as needed, setting an example for the team through excellent culinary skills.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
Monitor cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Provide training and support to team members to develop their skills and ensure adherence to company policies.
Manage shift schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and resolve any operational issues promptly.
Uphold excellent standards of hospitality and customer service within the kitchen environment.
Qualifications
Proven experience in food production, cooking, serving, or food preparation within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Previous management or supervising experience in a kitchen or culinary environment.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
Extensive knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
Familiarity with restaurant operations, culinary techniques, and hospitality principles.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.
Experience in managing stock levels and maintaining hygiene standards is desirable.
