Responsibilities
Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation, cooking, and presentation according to established standards.
Oversee daily kitchen operations including inventory control, food safety compliance, and food production processes.
Manage shift schedules, coordinate team activities, and ensure timely service during busy hours.
Train and develop team members on food handling, safety procedures, cooking techniques, and customer service expectations.
Maintain accurate food inventory levels through effective stock rotation and ordering coordination using POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS.
Handle cash transactions accurately and oversee cash handling procedures during shifts.
Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed rigorously to uphold a safe working environment.
Support restaurant management with budgeting, cost control, and overall food service management initiatives.
Assist in interviewing potential team members and participate in hiring processes to build a strong kitchen team.
Foster a positive team environment by encouraging collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement.
Contribute to the overall guest experience by maintaining high standards of food quality and customer service.
Requirements
Proven supervising or management experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong culinary background with skills in food preparation, cooking, and food handling.
Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for order processing and cash handling.
Experience in inventory control, food safety practices, and food production management.
Knowledge of restaurant operations including shift management, budgeting, and food service management.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to train staff effectively and motivate teams.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with front-of-house staff and kitchen team members.
Background in casual dining, quick service restaurants, or fine dining environments is highly desirable.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a busy kitchen setting.
Hospitality management or hotel experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
