We are looking for a reliable and skilled Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to a high standard while maintaining excellent hygiene and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and specifications.
Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality, portion, and presentation standards.
Work with the kitchen team to maintain smooth service during busy periods.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, and work areas.
Follow food hygiene, allergen awareness, and health & safety regulations at all times.
Assist with stock control, including checking deliveries, rotating stock, and minimizing waste.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Contribute to menu development and suggest new ideas when required.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Cook or Kitchen Assistant (pub/restaurant experience preferred).
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team and alone.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Desirable
Food Hygiene Level 2 (or willingness to obtain).
Experience working in a pub kitchen
