A Brunch Kitchen Team Member is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in accordance with the menu and maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and teamwork to ensure the smooth operation of kitchen services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Food Preparation:
Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to the menu and recipe specifications.
Ensure food is prepared to meet quality, portion, and presentation standards.
Assist in the preparation of ingredients, such as chopping, marinating, or portioning, as needed.
Support menu development by offering suggestions for specials or improvements.
2. Kitchen Operations:
Maintain a clean and organised workstation, including tools, equipment, and surfaces.
Follow proper food storage and labelling practices to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
Assist with inventory management, including stock checks and notifying management of shortages.
3. Health and Safety:
Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards to prevent cross-contamination and ensure customer safety.
Comply with kitchen health and safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain a clean kitchen environment by participating in regular cleaning schedules and deep cleaning tasks.
4. Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals.
Communicate effectively with FOH staff to handle special requests or resolve issues promptly.
Support colleagues during busy periods and assist in training new kitchen team members.

Requirements

Certified in Food Allergy and Intolerance.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
