Summary

We are seeking a motivated Kitchen Assistant/shop assistant to join our team at Our Wee Shop in Westfield ,Thurso. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our kitchen operates smoothly, contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality food products and exceptional service.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of the kitchen staff. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area. Support inventory management by restocking supplies as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations. Help with the presentation of dishes for serving. Follow food safety guidelines and maintain hygiene standards. Assist with customer service when necessary, including answering questions about menu items. Serving customers in the busy coffee shop/grocery and garden centre

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred, but not essential as full training will be given . Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment, as well as working and using your own initiative. Organizational skills to maintain an efficient workspace. Flexible to cover sick and holidays
