We have an exciting opportunity for a paralegal to join our PREF (Projects, Real Estate & Finance) Knowledge team.

The Role

The principal role will be to support the PREF Knowledge Lawyers in the service they provide to the PREF team.

Among other duties, the role will include the following:

  • Assisting with the preparation of regular internal "Knowledge Update" publications and external insights. Regular work will involve reviewing legislative and regulatory developments, case law, sector and market news, then working with Knowledge Lawyers to write, check and publicise updates for Osborne Clarke\'s fee earners and clients. Your responsibility will primarily be for our PREF and Urban Dynamics publications with additional duties as required.
  • Preparing materials and organising speakers for internal training. You may also attend training sessions aimed at the PREF team and relating to our Transformations strategy.
  • Assisting with the management of our relationships with external suppliers of resources and services for the PREF team.
  • Assisting Knowledge Lawyers in developing and maintaining legal precedents, checklists and guidance notes.
  • Conducting legal research and assisting with queries relating to legal and procedural matters.
  • Assisting with additional knowledge work and projects as required, including for the Knowledge Systems Manager and the Head of Knowledge.
Technical Skills and Experience
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is critical.
  • Well-developed analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Word, PowerPoint and other relevant tools together with an aptitude for developing expertise in new IT applications and systems.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, to manage a busy workload and to report on progress.
  • Ability to research and analyse areas of law and regulation and to identify key commercial issues and legal practice points.
  • A strong interest in the detail of law and its application to practice is essential for this role. Prior experience and/or study of the law is desirable.
