Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Tutor to join our team in providing educational support to students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly in special education, and possess strong communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Plan, develop, and deliver tailored Maths & English lessons to students up to Key
Stage 2 level (years 1 to 6), ensuring alignment with the National Curriculum and

Beyond Horizons' ethos.

Assess students' learning needs, developing and implementing customized teaching
strategies to address them.

Provide individualized support to foster strong reading, writing, and
communication skills in students.

Create and maintain a positive, engaging, and interactive learning environment that
motivates students to excel in Maths & English, ensuring teaching methods align

with the centre's commitment to engaging and interactive learning.

Monitor and track students' progress, adapting teaching methods as needed to
ensure optimal learning outcomes and providing regular feedback sessions.

Collaborate with team members, utilizing the range of resources provided by
Beyond Horizons, including textbooks, worksheets, and online materials.

Engage with students' reports to communicate progress and provide strategies for
improvement with parents or guardians.

Stay updated on curriculum changes and educational best practices to enhance
teaching quality.

Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and actively
contribute to fostering the centre's culture of excellence and equity.

Persons Specification:

Proven experience in teaching Maths & English, up to Key stage 2 level, and
familiarity with the current curriculums.

Strong command of the English language, including grammar, writing, and
literature.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a demonstrable ability to motivate and inspire students. Knowledge of curriculum standards, assessment methods, and a commitment to
creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Flexibility and adaptability in teaching methods, with strong organizational and
lesson planning skills.

Enhanced DBS check. Ability to work in a structured learning environment and contribute positively to
the academy's culture.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children, especially in special education settings
- Strong communication skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues effectively
- Proficient in tutoring techniques and able to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
- A passion for helping students achieve their academic goals through personalised support

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 14.00-25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 - 8 per week
