Overview

We are looking for an energetic, reliable and caring class assistant to work at our study centre in St Helens. Are you good at communicating? Enjoy working with children? Work well as part of a team? Are you an aspiring teacher? Then we are looking for you.

Responsibilities

Assist children with daily learning activities, homework, and tutoring sessions Support children in developing organisational and study skills Marking and recording work from home. Supporting with reading for younger learners, and times tables for older learners.

Requirements

Prior experience in tutoring or teaching children is highly desirable but not essential. Experience working with children is desirable but not essential. Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with children, parents, and professionals Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's growth and development Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse needs and learning styles Relevant qualifications or training in education or child development are advantageous but not essential
Hours will vary per week depending on needs of the business. You will be provided with 1 - 2 hour shifts. Must be available to work Mon, Tues and Wed after school hours.

This role provides an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to children's educational journeys while developing valuable skills in child support and special education.

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: 7.55-12.21 per hour
