St Philip's School is excited to recruit for a dynamic and engaging L and D Assistant to join our Learning and Development team. As our services expand we require further input and resource to support our evolving training needs and staff development.

St Philip's School offers the finest care and education to young people aged between 10 and 18, encouraging people to be the best that they can be. Our young people have a range of additional support needs, including social, emotional and behavioural development.

The successful candidate will work five days over seven, 37 hours per week. Flexibility will be required to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required. Normal hours of work will vary as per organisational needs but generally between 8am to 6pm.

The main tasks of the role will include (not exhaustive) :

Support St Philip's School staff achieve its organisational aims.

Contribute to the creation and delivery of online learning and development courses

Deliver training as and when required

Use data and reflective practice to inform ongoing continual improvement and support

Coach and mentor staff to use evidence based positive approaches in everyday practice.

Assist with the co-ordination of the training calendar for all staff training

Maintain accurate records of training activity and attendance

Act as a point of contact for the L and D team.

Evaluate all learning activity using effective methods and provide recommendations for improvement

Maintain your professional CPD by keeping up to date with the latest trends and best practices in the learning and development sector.

Assist the L and D Advisor with creating training needs analysis and assessment to determine learning and development needs and performance outcomes at every level of the organisation.

Manage relationships with external training providers and partners as required.

Support the implementation of St Philip School's learning and development strategy.

Support the Quality Assurance processes of the school alongside the Quality Assurance leads and L and D Advisor.

Support the development of management information which benefits recruitment, retention and training information related to employees.

The ideal candidate will:

Have worked in a L and D role or equivalent.

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite

Excellent communication skills

Excellent organisational skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Confidence in delivering training and facilitating reflective practice sessions

Ability to present complex information in an understandable format.

Strong knowledge of the health and social care standards and legislation.

Pre-Employment Medical Questionnaires will be undertaken prior to confirmation of employment. All convictions whether spent or unspent must be declared . These posts are regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Pay: 26,500.00-28,000.00 per year
