We're seeking a skilled and motivated Lab Manager (Performance Analysis) to take charge of our cutting-edge performance analysis facilities and lead a dynamic technical team. This role is pivotal to delivering exceptional teaching, research, and student support within one of the UK's top sport and health science schools. You'll combine technical expertise with leadership and strategic planning to elevate the student and staff experience.
You'll lead the way by:
Managing performance analysis lab operations, leading a team of technical staff and coordinating across academic and research teams.
Supporting curriculum delivery by providing expert demonstrations, mentoring students, and maintaining cutting-edge software and equipment.
Overseeing budget planning, procurement and maintenance of performance analysis technology.
Ensuring health, safety, and compliance across laboratory facilities and off-site teaching environments.
Driving innovation through strategic planning and collaboration to maximise the impact of lab resources.
Enhancing student learning by embedding current and emerging tools like Hudl SportsCode, Dartfish, Nacsport, and more.
What you'll bring
We're seeking a forward-thinking leader with strong technical expertise and a passion for sport performance analysis. You'll bring both practical and managerial strengths to this role.
Additionally, you'll have:
A degree in Sport Science or related field, with specialist knowledge of performance analysis (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in managing teams, budgets, and facilities in a professional or academic setting.
Proficiency with analysis software (e.g., Hudl, Dartfish, Nacsport) and hardware for video/data capture.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to mentor, demonstrate techniques, and collaborate across departments.
A proactive mindset, committed to supporting students and advancing learning outcomes.
