ACS (Analytical Construction Services) offers quality material testing and consultancy services predominantly aimed at the building, construction and civil engineering industries. Over the past 35 years, ACS have steadily expanded and developed, now providing a comprehensive range of UKAS accredited sampling, site testing and laboratory testing.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Laboratory Analyst to join the analytical team.

Please note that this position may require Saturday morning working on occasion.



Responsibilities



Carrying out analysis as required in accordance with documented Test Methods and Laboratory Procedures; Having a strong focus on Quality and GLP; Adhering to all Health & Safety requirements and be proactive in implementing said obligations; Reporting analytical results in LIMS, excel or as instructed; Liaising with the Senior Analyst and Analytical Chemists to undertake various tasks and present findings in a professional manner; Working within a dynamic and efficient team; Preparing laboratory reagents and standards and carry out non-routine work as required; Ensuring instrumentation is well maintained, calibrated and in good working order.

Job Requirements:



Minimum Degree in Chemistry or a Science based subject or similar related experience; 12 months previous laboratory or work placement experience; Knowledge and experience of Organic Techniques & Instrumentation - such as PAH, TPH, BTEX, GC-MS, GC-HS, GCxGC & GC-FID, ICP-OES, ICP-MS Computer literate with Microsoft and various instrumentation software; Ability to multitask is a must! Experience in a UKAS & MCERTs laboratory; Have good GLP and Housekeeping skills; Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify issues and implement corrective steps; Be flexible, self-motivated and have high attention to detail; Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally.
