Job Description


The Opportunity:Under limited supervision, responsibilities for assisting with facilities and laboratory operations, customer service delivery and environmental health/safety. Serve as a relationship leader to the customer as well as licensees. Communicate safety initiatives and other customer information for compliance with site SOPs.MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)
Facilities and Laboratory Operations
xc2xb7 Equipment Upkeep - Arrange lab equipment preventative maintenance (PM) maintain PM tracking software. Perform routine maintenance on refrigeration.
xc2xb7 Common Equipment Training - Provide basic operating training on common laboratory equipment. Assist with equipment troubleshooting, and supplemental resources. Assist in writing Work Instructions for equipment based on manuals/documentation provided by the manufacturer.
xc2xb7 Help Desk Management - Oversee Help Desk Management Program. Triage/escalate Business Operations related tickets.
xc2xb7 Procurement Management. Assist in obtaining quotes, preparing purchase orders, following up with vendors for laboratory, office and facilities equipment, goods and consumables.
xc2xb7 Chemical and Biological Storage - Ensure hazardous and biohazardous materials are correctly handled and stored.
xc2xb7 Cold Storage - Maintain and monitor cryogenic gas and dry ice usage. Support monitoring of cold storage through software systems.
xc2xb7 Lab Upkeep - Support upkeep of common lab areas.
xc2xb7 Shipping and Receiving - Provide back-up support to ensure shipments are received, processed, and recipients notified utilizing package tracking software. Ensure unclaimed packages are properly stored.
Customer Service
xc2xb7 Licensee Onboarding and Offboarding - Support licensee onboarding and off boarding by assisting with laboratory/office preparation and communication with licensees.
xc2xb7 Specialty Capital Equipment Training - Notify Operations Manager of licensee requests for specialty equipment training. Coordinate training.
xc2xb7 Facility Modification - Communicate to Operations Manager requests for modifications from licensees. Coordinate changes with contractors. Assist with escorting contractors.
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)
xc2xb7 EHS Policy Compliance - Provide support to staff, licensees, vendors and visitors with respect to customer EHS standards adherence.
xc2xb7 Safety Committee Meetings. Assist with the organization and preparation of Safety Committee meetings materials. Support execution of action items.
xc2xb7 On Site ERT - Provide assistance to direct and account for persons during evacuations. Assist Operations Manager in completing incident reports.
xc2xb7 Training and Policies - Support SOP creation and validation.
xc2xb7 Site Audit Support - Coordinate with Operations team to prepare site for inspections within laboratories and facilities, EHS and security. Monitor completion of corrective actions.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
xc2xb7 BS Degree in Science preferred or BA
xc2xb7 1-year experience working within a laboratory setting
xc2xb7 Strong process optimization skills and scientific trouble shooting skills
xc2xb7 Fully computer literate and competent with all office applications
xc2xb7 Strong verbal and written skills
xc2xb7 Highly motivated, enthusiastic, hands on, organized with strong ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
xc2xb7 Conform to all customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, security clearances and medical checkups
xc2xb7 Requires knowledge in using various instruments to prepare for and perform tests
xc2xb7 Strong communication skills
xc2xb7 Excellent Customer Service Skills; display a professional can-do attitude
xc2xb7 Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality
xc2xb7 Ability to understand and follow site protocols, policies and procedures

xc2xb7 Must be able to lift up to 25lbs minimum
xc2xb7 Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel
xc2xb7 Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

xc2xb7 Problem-solving skills

The associate is required to stand and walk for the majority of the working day. The physical requirements of the job are for associates to talk, hear, bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb height, reach above shoulder height, crouch, kneel, balance, and push/pull. Furthermore, the job requires associates to lift/carry/push or pull up to 25 pounds with or without assistance.
Associates use both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating as well as both feet for repetitive movement operating foots controls.
