We are seeking a full time Optical Laboratory Technician to work alongside our Laboratory Manager.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in the technical aspects of optical manufacturing and eye care. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the production and quality control of customised optical lenses, ensuring precision and adherence to robust specifications. Previous laboratory experience not essential as full training will be provided to suitable applicants committed to developing their skills within this specialised field.
39.5 hours per week - Weekend work essential.
Duties
Assist in the glazing of prescription lenses according to detailed specifications provided by our opticians.
Operate and maintain our state of the art laboratory equipment.
Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet all appropriate standards.
Maintain attention to detail and cleanliness throughout the laboratory environment.
Support the calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Document production processes accurately, maintaining detailed records for quality assurance purposes.
Work along side other team members to ensure timely delivery of our spectacles.
Skills
Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail.
Good manual dexterity and steady hand-eye coordination for handling delicate components.
Ability to follow technical instructions accurately and adhere to safety protocols within the laboratory setting.
Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with other team members and support a high standard of customer service.
