Our Bristol Lab has a requirement for a Laboratory Quality Manager who will oversee the full execution of the laboratory quality system across both onshore and offshore operations, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 standards as necessary. Additionally, the role encompasses overseeing the quality control and assurance of geotechnical test and calibration data and reports.


The successful candidate will also play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing UKAS accreditation, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices. Additionally, you will spearhead research initiatives aimed at improving laboratory processes and methodologies to uphold the highest standards of quality and accuracy in testing and calibration procedures.

What you'll do:



Maintain UKAS accreditation and ISO 17025 compliance, while supporting expansion of laboratory scope. Supervise the execution of daily and weekly equipment checks Ensure all laboratory equipment is compliant, calibrated, and maintained in line with the Laboratory Quality Manual. Create and maintaining uncertainty budgets for all calibrations Research, creating, and maintaining in-house calibrations Schedule and supervising the execution of internal management audits Schedule and supervising the execution of test audits Oversee quality assurance/control of laboratory data and reports and coordinating proficiency testing with external laboratories. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, vessel management, and external stakeholders to ensure testing procedures align with requirements and compliance. Provide technical support, training, and mentorship to staff while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and staying abreast of advancements in geotechnical testing.

Who We're Looking For



Essential:



Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience Sufficient experience in a Senior Quality based role

Desirable:



Proficient in ISO/ 17025 standards and implementation Experience in a UKAS accredited geotechnical laboratory Experience using geotechnical data analytics software
