About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Lab Technician to support our technical team in maintaining smooth and consistent laboratory operations. This role is process-driven and routine-focused, ensuring that our lab runs efficiently to enable our researchers and engineers to deliver high-quality results.This position is ideal for someone who thrives on structure, enjoys ensuring everything runs like clockwork, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of consistency and reliability.
Responsibilities
Running analytical testing using a range of laboratory equipment
Generating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Conducting accurate data entry and assisting with data analysis
Managing lab consumables and maintaining stock control systems
Preparing standard formulations and test samples
Ensuring smooth day-to-day running of the laboratory environment
Supporting researchers and engineers by maintaining lab readiness, cleanliness, and compliance
Monitoring and maintaining equipment logs and calibration schedules
Key Qualities & Skills
Required:
Experience working in a laboratory or analytical environment (3 years+)
Strong organisational and time management skills - able to manage multiple routine tasks daily
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistency in lab processes
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining lab standards
Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar data management tools
Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
Experience with coatings, materials science, or analytical chemistry
Familiarity with lab stock management systems
Knowledge of quality control procedures and data recording best practices
Basic data analysis experience using Microsoft excel
