As a Laboratory Technician, you will deliver, in a flexible and timely manner, a range of laboratory services and provision of technical support - providing the site with key information regarding the quality of the materials that're supplied to site for packing, and the resultant finished goods products produced by the site.
You will be responsible for testing of the bulk liquids, as well as packaged product produced on the lines, to ensure expected analytical, microbiological, and organoleptic standards are achieved. Taking responsibility for 'quality' decision making and actioning the decisions and guidance already communicated - in the absence of the QC Dept. management team.
The Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree - or equivalent - in a scientific discipline is preferred
Experience in a laboratory environment, preferably at a food/beverage production site and in a product quality control context
Manual Handling and COSHH experience
Fully competent to operate, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, along with a competency in performing 'wet chemistry', and microbiology (bioburden), analysis
Comfort in the use of MS Excel - and other programs within the MS Office suite - is required
Prior experience of 'database'-type IT (e.g. ERP) systems is preferred.
