The Position

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a

Laboratory Technician

to join the Filter Testing department at Particle Technology Ltd, which is the UK's only independent air filter test laboratory with UKAS accreditation to ISO 17025 for laboratory competence. Our staff are focused on working safely, ethically and with excellent attention to detail.

Filter Testing Department Overview

General ventilation (HVAC) and gas turbine air filters are tested in accordance with international standards EN 779:2012 and the ISO 16890 series of standards. These filters are subjected to standardised test procedures allowing them to be classified based on their performance. Non-accredited tests for automotive and other bespoke air filters are also undertaken using methods derived from international standards and using calibrated test equipment.

Key Duties

Following procedures to carry out accredited customer tests.

Populating spreadsheets with test data and interpreting the data.

Following procedures to carry out and document the results of periodic equipment re-qualification tests.

Carrying out equipment maintenance and in-house calibration work.

Setting up test rigs for non-accredited testing.

Operating test equipment including aerosol generators and particle counters.

Maintaining the test lab in a clean and tidy condition.

Provide assistance to other departments within the company when required.

Requirements

A-level science and mathematics (minimum).

Experience of working in a laboratory environment.

Good IT skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

The ability to learn new technical concepts.

To be dependable, punctual and have the ability to speak with customers.

This position may lead to full-time employment for the right candidate.
