Entitlements:

30 days paid holiday (including bank holidays) pro-rata, company pension scheme, full training, workplace reviews.

Hours:

8-16 hours p/week, Weekend working (flexible around other commitments)

Exploration & Testing Associates Limited is an independent company specialising in geotechnical ground investigation and construction materials testing in the UK. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join the team while the company expands and grows.

The position of Laboratory Technician will be based at our Durham office. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will be carrying out testing of aggregates, concrete and construction related materials in accordance with British Standards and UKAS requirements. You will be responsible for the quality of the work, recording of result's, proper maintenance of laboratory conditions, carrying out checks on equipment, instruments and supplies.

The key requirements of the role are:



Ensuring work quality, during the job and upon completion

Ensuring that test results are available in a timely manner

Ensuring all test equipment in use is well maintained and calibrated

To attend and complete approved training courses as requested

Ensuring all laboratory and site testing is carried out within the requirements of the relevant test standards and adheres to Health & Safety guidelines

Ensuring the required standards of general house-keeping are met and workplace efficiency is maintained using 5S methodology as appropriate

Essential:



Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise

Strong safety awareness

Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with others

Able to work well under pressure and respond positively

Desirable:



Having an understanding of COSHH and chemical safety requirements
