Job Description

Laboratory Technician



We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support our quality, inspection, and product verification activities. This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail, an interest in metrology or testing, and a desire to develop within a quality-focused environment.



You will play a key part in ensuring our products meet the highest standards by performing verification tests, conducting inspections, processing customer returns, and supporting compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025:2017.



Full training will be provided, making this an excellent development opportunity.





What you'll be doing



Laboratory Testing



Perform initial verification tests on approved PCL tyre inflation instruments. Record, analyse, and report test results accurately in line with company procedures.


Quality Support

Complete administrative tasks to support the wider quality function. Build a working understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025:2017 standards.


Inspection Activities

Conduct goods-in inspections, ensuring parts meet engineering drawings and product specifications. Process, assess, and document customer returns in accordance with quality procedures.


Essential skills and experience



Understanding (or willingness to learn) of metrology principles for linear and pressure measurement. Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills. Ability to follow instructions and work methodically. Competent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong numeracy and literacy. Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to continuous improvement.


Essential Skills & Experience



Proven experience in a manufacturing/production environment in a supervisor, team leader, or manager role. Strong understanding of production processes, workflows, and equipment. Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and quality management systems. Ability to review, update, and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Experience leading or supporting continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, CI). Confident managing performance, behaviours, and team development. Proficient in Microsoft Office and production planning systems (ERP/MRP). Skilled in conducting Risk Assessments and writing Safe Systems of Work. IOSH Managing Safely (or willingness to obtain).
