B.A. Hydro Solutions Limited is a Hydro-Thermogeological Consultancy and Laboratory business based near Cambridge. Established 21 years ago the company now consists of 20 staff and associates including a small laboratory team.
The BAHS laboratory offers a wide range of groundwater testing services to a variety of business and private clients. The analysis includes chemical, physical and bacterial parameters which are used to verify that the most common drinking water parameters are below regulatory limits. Due to increased demand for our water testing services, we're now expanding our team to meet this continued growth.
Your role
The successful candidate would be required to process all water samples received on a daily basis in our laboratory. This would involve, but not be limited to:
- Daily registration of samples onto our project management system
- To perform all work allocated on samples within our standard company limits, not deviating from the documented methodology
- Results reporting to clients
- Provide explanations and advice to clients
- Handle incoming client communication via email, phone and in person in a professional manner
- Routine maintenance of laboratory equipment, internal calibrations , stock control and waste disposal
- Maintaining Health and Safety documentation
- Sample collection on site (water hygiene & sampling training to be provided)
We're looking for someone with the following:
- A Levels (ideally Chemistry and Biology)
- Someone who is eager and keen to learn new skills
- Proactive work ethic
- A team player
- Flexible, reliable and well organised
- Be able to work under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Good ICT Skills
- A sense of humour
Desirable, but not essential:
- BSc (for example, in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Sciences)
- Full, clean driving licence
- Experience working in a commercial laboratory environment
- Understanding of ISO17025
