The labour controller is responsible for monitoring, analysing and optimising labour utilisation and productivity across production. This role works closely with the Production and HR teams to administer absence processes, provide data and narrative to allow senior managers to undertake planning activities. The successful candidate must be comfortable dealing with a variety of stakeholders at different levels of the business, be good with data and enjoy working at pace.
Key Areas:
Work close with the Manufacturing managers on labour gap analysis and support with the workforce planning to meet productivity
Responsible for correct absence records in the time and attendance system
Produce reports for line managers and ensure that absences are recorded correctly into Time and attendance system
Keep HR/Manufacturing Managers and Factory Manager up to date and attend daily meeting ensuring trackers are maintained
Ensure end of month closure is completed in time and attendance system to ensure employee correct payment of absence by payroll
Ensure absence certification checks are complete in a timely manner for payroll cut off
Responsible for highlighting end of month closure date and highlighting to managers any employees at risk of non payments
Provide admin support for interviews and investigations
Identify AWOL absence and report to HR
Daily / Weekly / Monthly absence & holiday graphs for review

+ Support Managers with any probation and absence disciplinary meetings and absence reviews by preparing reports; investigation packs, note taking and outcome letters
+ Support managers with Occupational health referrals
+ Coordinate Employees' Health Surveillance appointments
Key Performance Indicators:
Delivery of KPI and trend data
Skills:
Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (mail merge, graphs, pivot tables, v-look ups)
Ability to design and narrate data
Ability to understand people data sets (e.g. shift patterns, FTE, absence entitlements)
Computer Literacy essential
Fast and accurate when typing or entering data with meticulous attention to detail
Keen to develop in role and supportive of process improving and new ways of working
Ability to maintain confidence
Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
