We are setting up a steel bundling and sorting team in Aberdeen to assist with the handling and preparation of approximately
2,500 tonnes of finished steel
for transmission tower construction. The role involves organising, sorting, and assembling steel components into tower parts and laying them out in designated tower bays.
Labourers will work under the supervision of a
Balfour Beatty Supervisor
alongside a
forklift operator
responsible for the movement of steel materials. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a key infrastructure project within the Scottish Power Transmission sector.

Key Responsibilities
Assist with
sorting, bundling, and laying out steel components
for transmission towers.
Support the assembly of steel into tower sections according to project specifications.
Maintain
a clean, organised, and safe working environment
.
Work closely with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient material flow.
Follow all
health, safety, and site procedures
at all times.
Provide manual labour support, including lifting, carrying, and positioning heavy materials.
Assist forklift operators and other trades as required.

Requirements
Previous
construction or labouring experience
preferred (steelwork experience advantageous).
Good
teamwork and communication skills
.
Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks.
Awareness of
site safety and safe lifting practices
.
CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification desirable.

Additional Information
Day shifts only, midweek work (no weekends).
Supervised by Balfour Beatty site management.
