Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Labourer will provide essential support across multiple production functions within the factory, including welding, spray painting, rolling mill, and plasma cutting operations. The primary objective is to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations by assisting skilled tradespeople, maintaining a clean and organised environment, and performing general labour tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist welders, painters, machine operators, and other production staff as needed. Transport raw materials, tools, and finished products between workstations safely and efficiently. Prepare work areas and materials for various processes (e.g., cleaning surfaces before painting or welding). Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision. Support the operation of the rolling mill and plasma machine by handling materials and ensuring readiness. Perform regular cleaning and maintenance tasks to keep equipment and work areas tidy and hazard-free. Follow all health and safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times. Report any machinery faults or safety hazards to supervisors promptly. Load and unload materials and products from delivery trucks or storage. Assist with stock checks and inventory control. Carry out other general labour duties as directed by the supervisor or production manager.

Key Skills & Experience:

Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment desirable but not essential. Familiarity with welding, painting, or machine operations is an advantage but not essential. Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods. Ability to work well within a team and take direction. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Basic understanding of workplace health and safety standards. Reliable, punctual, and proactive in approach.

Qualifications:

No formal qualifications required; on-the-job training will be provided. Forklift licence required
